Happy 2016! Just kidding. This week we talked about our favourite memories from 2016, which was already a decade ago. Here are some of the key words and phrases we used.
Throwback (noun) - something from the past that reminds you of that time
"What a x" - a phrase to emphasise something's extremity - e.g what a mess, what a goal, what a day
Pivotal (adj) - important and often a turning point
Gullible (adj) - easily tricked, easily believes things
Enclosure (noun) - a confined space, where an animal is kept at the zoo
Legacy (noun) - the long term impact and reputation something leaves behind
Gen Z (noun) - the generation born from 1997-2010
Millenials (noun) - the generation bron between 1981 and 1996
"Pass the torch" (idiom) - to hand something over to someone, often in the context of when the person is retiring or finishing something, they will hand it over to someone younger
